We decided to break down our goals into bite sized pieces so that it is not so overwhelming. So here's what we've got to do over the next few months:

Run 180 miles

Raise $100 per mile

Purchase our Passports

Learn to speak (at least a little) Nepali

Get our shots

Purchase our flight tickets

I'm new to the whole Blog thing, so I'm gonna try to figure out a way to post on the side how much money we have raised so far vs. our goal. If you have any posting tips, feel free to email me! I can use all the advice I can get! Thanks!!

Run for the Harvest
First, I'd like to introduce ourselves, we are the Newtons. Dennis, April, Denny, Lauren and Simeon. The reason we are starting this blog is to keep track of the progress of Great Adventure. See, we have these friends who live their lives to serve, they give their lives to save others. They travel the world telling people the good news, and how they can be a part of God's Awesome plan! You can, and should check them out at http://www.unisonharvest.com/ to see what they are all about. As for us, we've gotten to the point where we are no longer satisfied with running on the wheel. It's time to be the hands and the feet. We will be joining Cliff and Christie on one of their upcoming journeys to Nepal. In an effort to raise the necessary funds for this trip we will be running, as a family. 5K's, 10K's, half marathons, and even marathons. (The kids will stick to the smaller stuff.) Our first run will be SATURDAY, APRIL 12, 2008 @ 10:30 AM at LATROBE MEMORIAL STADIUM. It will be this year, shooting for late summer, at the latest Mid fall! Cliff and Christie are arranging all of the details, but they told us to start getting things in order right away! So we are! Plus, that's a lot f money to try to raise!! we need $18,000.
I don't know what shots we need, do you know how we find out?
