Each year, on the second Sunday in May we take time to remember and honor our mothers. I have always felt that there is no adequate way to say thanks or fully express our mothers' value. Songs have been written, poems have been composed, dinners have been shared, and gifts have been given.

My mom is an amazing woman. This Mother's Day I want to go on record saying how much my mom means to me.

Some things are just taken for granted. Mom gave me life, nourishing me with her own flesh. Mom nurtured me and made sure I had everything I needed to grow and develop into all God had in mind.

As I grew, Mom was always there to counsel, encourage, teach, train, and prepare me for success in life. She cooked, cleaned, gardened, and managed our young lives.

I remember Mom taking us to church, taking us to Sunday School after we got saved, and eventually joining us in the Kingdom of God and in church each week. Spiritually, we have grown up together, but I have always been able to guide on her example and draw on her wisdom.

As teens, regretfully, we were the source of great anguish and torment for Mom. But, through it all, she faithfully prayed for us, always had an encouraging word, and was the epitome of forgiveness.

Mom has been a wonderful grandmother, a great great-grandmother, and the kind of mother any adult child could want. Whe continues to demonstrate what a Christian is and challenges us to rise to her example.

Mom, I love you and am so grateful that God entrusted me to your care.
